A welcome shake-up to the Naples golf scene, Kinsale Golf Club opened in November 2024 as a Gil Hanse and Jim Wagner design that channels the spirit of Golden Age architects Seth Raynor and C.B. Macdonald, complete with template holes inspired by classics like the National Golf Links of America and Chicago Golf Club. With only 174 acres of dead-flat land to work with, Hanse and Wagner shaped the strategic interest from the ground up, using bold green complexes, dramatic bunkering, hard boundary lines, and a central wetland preserve to create a course that plays nothing like its South Florida neighbors. The result is a thinking-player's round where angles, contours, and ground game matter far more than length, rewarding creativity over sheer power. Capped at around 250 members and operating as a golf-only club from October through May, Kinsale offers a purist, intimate experience that has quickly become one of the most talked-about new clubs in the country.
